WSQ Certificate in Guard and Patrol, Access Control Management (Provide Guard and Patrol Services and Operate Basic Security Equipment) (PGPSOBSE) is one of the 3 compulsory Basic Licensing Units (BLUs) needed to apply for a security officer license in Singapore.

The three basic licensing modules are:

1. Guard and Patrol, Access Control Management
2. Handle Security Incidents and Services
3. Recognise Terrorist Threats

This course is for new entrants to the security industry or anyone who is keen to learn about basic security knowledge and skills required to perform various guard and patrol duties effectively, and how to use technology to achieve higher productivity and better outcomes.

1. Prepare for guard and patrol activities
2. Operate the equipment necessary for guard and patrol activities as well as access control
3. Identify legal requirements related to guard and patrol activities
4. Handle enquiries, requests and offences relating to guard and patrol activities

A Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded to the individual when he successfully completed each module and assessed to be competent.

Application / Entry Requirement

• Candidates must be above the age of 16 at the time of application.
• No minimum educational requirements. However, candidates must meet the required workplace literacy and numeracy level and should possess the relevant assumed skills and knowledge.

Course Duration: 3 days + 2 hours of assessment
