WSQ Certificate in Operate Basic Security Equipment (OBSE) is now a requirement for existing Security Officers to complete by 31 Dec 2025. Security Officers (SO) without OBSE Certification by the deadline will not be allowed to be deployed for SO duties.
This course aims to equip learners with the basic knowledge and skills required to harness technology to enhance their productivity and effectiveness in handling the various situations or incidences when carrying out security duties.
By the end of the course, learners are expected to be able to perform the following learning
outcomes:
- Operate access control equipment
- Operate CCTV, alarm monitoring equipment and automatic visitor management systems
A Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded to the individual when he successfully completed each module and assessed to be competent.
Application / Entry Requirement
- Candidates must be above the age of 16 at the time of application.
- No minimum educational requirements. However, candidates must meet the required workplace literacy and numeracy level and should possess the relevant assumed skills and knowledge.
Course Duration: 2 days + 2 hours of assessment

SG Citizen aged 40 & above (exclude GST) : SGD 165.00
