WSQ Certificate in Security Surveillance Management (Perform Remote Surveillance Functions) (SSM) is one of the 2 mandatory courses for a Security Officer to be promoted to the rank of Senior Security Officer, the other being Manage Disorderly Conduct & Threatening Behaviour (MDTB). Existing Senior Security Officers (SSO) are required to complete this certification by 31 Dec 2025. Senior Security Officers without SSM Certification by the deadline will not be allowed to be deployed for SSO duties.
This course aims to equip learners with the relevant skills to operate surveillance CCTV, operate its software systems, handle security incidents raised in the surveillance system, analyse & report abnormal behaviour, take action by reporting to relevant stake holders.
By the end of the course, learners are expected to be able to perform the following learning
outcomes:
- Operate remote surveillance functions
- Analyse abnormal behaviour
A Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded to the individual when he successfully completed each module and assessed to be competent.
Application / Entry Requirement
- Candidates must be above the age of 16 at the time of application.
- No minimum educational requirements. However, candidates must meet the required workplace literacy and numeracy level and should possess the relevant assumed skills and knowledge.
